JS Hawk Gunmetal

Naming for the JS Hawk comes from Kitty Hawk, North Carolina – the location where the Wright Brothers first took flight. This incredible feat came from the most unlikely individuals. While the Wright Brothers had some mechanical knowledge, there were other groups attempting flight with more experience, larger teams, and far greater funding. However, what they did have was the relentless persistence and work ethic to achieve their goal. The accomplishments of the Wright Brothers opened the floodgates to innovation and aeronautical advancement that eventually led to the Moon landing a mere 65 years after the they broke the flight barrier that historic day in Kitty Hawk.

The matte gunmetal frame and gloss silver accents of the JS Hawk Gunmetal retain the frame’s classic style while adding a twist of individuality. Gloss tortoise Italian acetate temple tips add another subtle differentiator, and polarized gray lenses complement the gunmetal frame.

The frames are crafted from nickel-free stainless steel, and each frame is individually hand-polished and assembled. Soft silicone nose pads are used for extra comfort and are attached to malleable nose pad wires to easily adjust fit. German-engineered 3-barrel hinges and screws are used to retain smooth movement for years to come.
